Late last year, The Radical Leap Company founder, Noreen Makosewe, talked to Amma Gyampo, co-founder at ScaleUp Africa about the work we do helping develop entrepreneurial ecosystems across Africa to add to the pipeline of high-growth profitable businesses on the continent that can compete on the global platform.
One of the key points made during the conversation highlighted that emerging and frontier markets require a more localised approach to ecosystem building in order to see more effective entrepreneurship programme results.

Also, government policy is key to making sure that entrepreneurship in Africa thrives. However, despite the resources being pushed towards the ’empowerment’ space across Africa, the challenge that remains is that the success rate of development programs and the performance of the SMEs that go through them is still quite low. There is a need for data collection and analysing, information and simple conversations that translate to support at the grassroots.
